Maharashtra Government Extends CIDCO Amnesty Scheme To August 2024 For Resident Relief

The Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government has decided to extend the amnesty scheme by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) until August 15, 2024. This extension aims to provide significant relief to the state's residents.

Initially, the scheme was set to end on June 30, 2024. It offered a 50% discount on late payment fees and additional lease amounts, along with an extended payment deadline.

CIDCO Amnesty Scheme Extended to 2024

Due to the election code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, estate department employees were assigned extra election-related duties. This led to many proposals remaining incomplete.

Residents, aware of the delays, requested an extension of the scheme. They argued that completing all pending proposals by June 30 was not feasible.

Former minister and Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik, Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur, and Uran MLA Mahesh Baldi took up this issue with the state government. They aimed to ensure that citizens could benefit maximally from the scheme.

The representatives also submitted a statement to Aseem Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department. They requested an extension of the amnesty scheme.

Recognising the importance of this demand, the Maharashtra government decided to extend the scheme until August 15. This move ensures that citizens can fully benefit from it.

This extension provides much-needed relief and allows more time for residents to take advantage of the scheme's benefits. The decision reflects the government's commitment to addressing citizens' concerns effectively.
