Maharashtra Govt Formation: Fadnavis, Shinde, Ajit Pawar Hand Over Letter Of Support To Guv CP Radhakrishnan
BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Wednesday officially proposed the formation of Government by handing over a letter to Governor CP Radhakrishnan, signed by newly elected MLAs. BJP has 132 MLAs, while Shiv Sena and NCP (Ajit Pawar) bagged 54 and 41 seats respectively.
BJP's Devendra Fadnavis will be the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra CM, while Eknath Shinde, who was serving as the CM of the state, take charge as deputy chief minister. Ajit Pawar will continue his role as second deputy CM.

Along with Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, senior leaders Praful Patel and Vinod Tawde met the Governor of Maharashtra. The swearing-in ceremony for Maharashtra's Next Chief Minister will be held tomorrow, December 5.

The Swearing-in will be held at around 5:30 pm in Mumbai's iconic Azad Maidan. It has been learned that along with the Chief Minister, 2 deputy CMs will take oath of office.
Later, all three top leaders of Mahayuti (Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar) will decide names for cabinet ministers. A
Addressing the media, after meeting Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that he will be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and all alliance partners have extended their support. He thanked Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for backing his name for the top post.
Fadnavis also recalled the last 2.5 years of the trio's working together and promised to continue serving the people of the state.
The designated CM also confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the oath ceremony slated for December 5.
