Maharashtra Cops Summon Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Rakhi Sawant Over 'India's Got Latent' Row

The Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell has issued summons to YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani, as well as actor Rakhi Sawant, following controversy over Allahbadia's remarks on Samay Raina's YouTube show 'India's Got Latent'.

Allahbadia and Chanchlani have been summoned for February 24, while Sawant is required to appear on February 27. The actor, model, and reality TV personality had appeared as a guest on one of the show's episodes.

India s Got Latent

Multiple FIRs were filed against Allahbadia, widely known as "Beer Biceps", over his comments regarding parents and sex on the YouTube programme.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court granted him protection from arrest and further FIRs but criticised him strongly for his remarks, stating that his words reflected the "dirt in his mind" that he had "vomited out."

The court also considered Chanchlani's petition to quash or transfer an FIR filed in Guwahati regarding alleged obscenity on an online show.

A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh has sought responses from the governments of Maharashtra and Assam.

On Tuesday, the Gauhati High Court granted interim bail to Chanchlani while hearing his anticipatory bail plea. The court directed him to appear before the investigating officer within 10 days.
