Maharashtra Budget Session 2025: Key Roads Closed In Mumbai, Check Alternative Routes Inside
As the Maharashtra Budget Session 2025 begins today, March 3, the Mumbai Police have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement in South Mumbai. The session is scheduled to table the Maharashtra Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on March 10, prompting the need for road closures and diversions.
The traffic restrictions will be in effect from March 3 until the conclusion of the budget session, according to a Times Now report. According to an official notification by Pradnya Jedge, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, Mumbai Police, Ramnath Goenka Marg will be temporarily closed for commuters when required. The closure will be enforced from Sakhar Bhavan to its junction with Vidhan Bhavan. During this time, all vehicles will be diverted from this route, and only emergency vehicles, including fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances, will be allowed access.

Parking restrictions will also be enforced in areas with limited space for dignitaries' vehicles. These areas include Vinay K. Shah Road (from Jamanalal Bajaj Road to Murli Deora Chowk), Jamanalal Bajaj Road (from Usha Mehta Chowk to the dead end of the road), Dorabji Tata Road (from Murli Deora Chowk to Genda Point), Ramnath Goenka Marg (from Sakhar Bhavan to Vidhan Bhavan Road), and Vidhan Bhavan Road (from Union Bank building to Madam Cama Road).
For the convenience of dignitaries, parking has been allocated on VV Rao Road and Free Press Journal Road.
Commuters are urged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid traffic disruptions during this crucial time. The measures are being put in place to prevent traffic jams and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the city during the important session.
