Maharashtra assembly elections: Know about qualification of MLAs

Mumbai, Oct 7: Ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Tuesday revealed the educational qualification of the MLAs of the poll-bound state.

According to TOI report, only 87 out of 284 MLAs are graduates and only 29 are postgraduates (31% MLAs are graduates and just 11% are postgraduates).

55 MLAs have studied only till Class X while 51 have studied till Class XII

11 studied till Class 8th, 7 till Class 5th, 4 are not even studied till Class 4th and one is said to be illiterate.

Only four MLAs, including Vidarbha's Nitin Raut, hold PHD degree.

Satish Chaturvedi and Anees Ahmed hold LLB degrees.

BJP president Devendra Fadnavis and Ramtek MLA Ashish Jaiswal also hold LLB degrees.

Other MLAs have shown their profession as self-employed, agriculturist and businessmen.
