Kunal Kamra Knocks on HC Doors Wants FIR Quashed in Shinde Joke Case

Kamra has urged the court to quash the FIR, which was filed on March 24 at the Khar Police Station following a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel.

Kunal Kamra was booked following a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel over an alleged defamatory comment targeting Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde during his stand-up act.

Kamra had shared a video online in which he mocked Shinde in the context of the Shiv Sena split. The act sparked backlash, with party workers allegedly vandalising the studio and hotel where the show was held on March 23.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Kamra extended an apology to his audience after reports surfaced that Mumbai Police had issued notices to some attendees for questioning. "I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience that attending my show has caused you. Please email me so I can schedule your next vacation anywhere you'd like in India," Kamra wrote in a public message.
