Heavy Rain Disrupts Exams: Maharashtra SSC And HSC Supplementary Exams Postponed, Updated Dates Inside
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the postponement of the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) supplementary board exams originally scheduled for Friday, July 26. This decision comes in response to the heavy rainfall affecting the region, as confirmed by an official press release.
According to the notification, the Science and Technology Part 2 exam for Class 10, set for today from 11 AM to 1 PM, has been rescheduled to July 31 from 11 AM to 1 PM. For Class 12 students, the exams for Organisation of Commerce and Management, Food Science and Technology, and MCVC, initially planned for today, will now be held on August 9 from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Additionally, students who missed their SSC and HSC supplementary exams on Thursday due to the heavy rains will be given an opportunity to take a re-examination. The board has assured that there are no changes to the remaining exams and has encouraged students to check the official website for the latest updates regarding the Maharashtra SSC and HSC Supplementary Exams 2024.
Schools Closed
The Thane Municipal Corporation has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges today due to the ongoing heavy rainfall. The announcement, made on the evening of July 25, cites the potential for continued severe weather as forecasted by the Meteorological Department.
The notice explains that the heavy rains have made travel to and from school potentially hazardous for students from grades 1 through 12, prompting the decision to close all educational institutions in the Thane Municipal Corporation area.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, and Sindhudurg districts, indicating severe weather conditions.
"Considering the current situation of heavy rains and the forecast of continued severe weather, all schools in the Thane Municipal Corporation area are advised to close on July 26, 2024, to ensure the safety of students," reads the official notice.
