In a deeply disturbing incident that has once again raised questions about the safety of women in Mumbai, a young woman was allegedly harassed and molested by a shirtless man in Bandra while returning home in an autorickshaw. The incident happened around 7 PM on Saturday evening when her vehicle had stopped at a traffic signal.

According to the victim, the man, who appeared to be drunk, initially approached her autorickshaw asking for food. When she chose to ignore him, he became aggressive and began misbehaving. He allegedly touched her thigh inappropriately and even spat on her, making obscene comments about her clothes.

The woman later shared a video of the incident on social media, showing the man shouting at her and following her on the footpath. In her post, she described how the man had attempted to enter the rickshaw and said, "Give me food," while grabbing her thigh. He then reportedly told her, "If you don't want to be touched, get fully dressed. This is India; I can do whatever I want to you."

The woman expressed fear that the man might have chased or harmed her further after the rickshaw moved, but thankfully, no further incident occurred. The disturbing footage caught the attention of several users on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, who urged the Mumbai Police to take swift action.

Mumbai Police have since acknowledged the matter after the video went viral. There has been widespread outrage online, with many people expressing concern over the rising number of such cases. Citizens are now once again questioning the level of safety available to women in public spaces, even in broad daylight and busy areas like Bandra.

The incident has not only shocked residents but has also added to the growing anxiety over increasing crimes against women across the state. From public places to private settings, reports of violence and harassment continue to surface, painting a grim picture of women's safety in today's society.
