Grand Masti in Mumbai: Drunk model threatens, abuses police, arrested

, Oct 8: Anjum Nayar, a Mumbai-based model, has been arrested for abusing and threatening a

constable who had gone to accomplish his duty. Mumbai Police arrested Anjum on Monday, Oct 7.

Police officials informed that the young model has been booked for threatening and trying to deter a public servant from discharging his duties and criminal intimidation. Anjum is likely to be produced before a court in Mumbai on Tuesday.

CCTV footage of the building floor, where Anjum stays, shows the model abusing and threatening the police constable who was instructed to go to the Samarth Angan building in Oshiwara around 1:30 am Monday.

According to sources, Anjum neighbours had complained to the police that the model was playing loud music at her flat at the wee hours of Monday. Police found Anjum partying with her friends. It has been reported that she was inebriated at the time of the incident.

When the policemen reached Anjum's house and asked her to turn down the volume, she allegedly used abusive words and threatened them.

Police official was quoted as saying, "We called female officers, who took her for a medical check-up to confirm alcohol intake and imposed a fine of Rs 1,200 for exceeding the permissible decibel levels and using abusive language."

Medical reports confirmed that Anjum was under influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Police collected the CCTV footage as a proof against Anjum.
