Fire breaks out at dumping ground in Kalyan
Thane, June 1: A massive fire broke out at Agarwadi dumping groung in Kalyan on Tuesday, May 31 evening.
According to media reports, the municipal officials of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) said that " the fire started at 4.30 pm and there were no casualities reported till late night."
Around more than 12 fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flame. However, the cause of fire is yet to be acertained.
Earlier in a similar incident in February fire broke out because of methane generated in dumped waste.
Meanwhile, the residents complained about breathlessness due to the smog engulfed in the area.
