Eknath Shinde Returns To Mumbai, Says He Will Back BJP's CM Candidate For Maharashtra
Eknath Shinde, the acting Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has recently clarified his stance regarding the speculation of his dissatisfaction with the distribution of portfolios in the Mahayuti government. He emphasized his unwavering support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating any decision regarding the chief ministerial position will be made by the BJP. This announcement came as a significant relief to the BJP, highlighting the solid partnership within the alliance.
Shinde, addressing the media from his hometown in Satara, reassured everyone about his health, which had been a concern due to a fever he suffered the previous day. He explained, "I am doing good now. I had come here to rest after the hectic election schedule. I did not take any leave during my 2.5 years as the CM. People are still here to meet me. This is why I fell ill." This statement provided insight into his dedication to his role and the toll it had taken on his health.

Shinde Expresses Confidence in Government's Achievements
In his address, Shinde also took a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of the government under his leadership. He expressed pride in the work done over the last 2.5 years, suggesting it would be remembered as a golden era in history. "Our government's work in the last 2.5 years will be written in golden letters in history. That is why people have given us a historic mandate and did not give the Opposition a chance to elect a leader of Opposition," he stated. This remark indicates the confidence he has in the government's performance and the public's support.
BJP's Decision on Chief Minister Position Awaited
As part of his statement, Shinde confirmed that the chief minister's name would be announced soon, with decisions being made in concert with all three allies of the Mahayuti. He reiterated his unconditional support for the party leadership's decision, highlighting the unity and understanding among the coalition partners. "All three allies of the Mahayuti have a good understanding and the CM candidate will be decided tomorrow," Shinde mentioned. This anticipation sets the stage for the BJP's announcement on the leadership role.
Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis, a key figure in the BJP, reached out to Shinde to inquire about his health. According to sources, Fadnavis called Shinde, who has been staying in his village in the Satara district for the past three days, to express his concern after Shinde fell ill on Saturday. This gesture underscores the camaraderie and mutual concern among the top leaders of the alliance.
In conclusion, Eknath Shinde's recent comments have put to rest any rumors of discord within the Mahayuti government regarding portfolio allocations. His reaffirmation of support for the BJP and confidence in the government's historical achievements reflect a cohesive and focused alliance. As the BJP prepares to announce Maharashtra's next Chief Minister, all eyes will be on how this decision impacts the state's political landscape and the future direction of the Mahayuti government.
