Congress's Nana Patole Compares Op Sindoor With 'Children's Video Game'; BJP, Sena React

Patole's Controversial Comments

"US President Trump said multiple times that he threatened both nations (India and Pakistan) that they (US) would stop trade with them, so they should call a ceasefire. Operation Sindoor was stopped with his signal. It means that this was a game that was played just like computer games played by children," ANI quoted the former Maharashtra Congress President as saying.

He said that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack have not been caught. "Why did the PM not speak about the terrorists who wiped off the 'sindoor' of our sisters? That is a question for the people of the country," the Congress leader added.

He then targeted the Prime Minister over his foreign visit and accused the PM of spending hard-earned money of the taxpayers.

"At the time of Operation Sindoor, why did not even one country stand with India? People are thinking about this. We still do not know about the Pulwama incident, though it happened in 2019. Modi ji is lying throughout the day, but these lies won't work before the country now," he claimed.

BJP, Shiv Sena Hit Out

Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule slammed Patole over his remarks, calling Congress is a hand in glove with Pakistan. In a post on X, he wrote, "Congress leader Nana Patole has once again proved that Congress is hand in glove with Pakistan by making objectionable statement that 'Operation Sindoor is a computer game'."

On Congress leader Nana Patole's remark on Operation Sindoor, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC said, "Nana Patole has been the child of controversy for the longest time. He makes statements without thinking. Operation Sindoor was not a video game as he suggests. Maybe if he has such low mindset, then he should first engage with his own party leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Salman Khurshid to understand the impact of Operation Sindoor."

RLD leader Malook Nagar said that Patole's words with UP Congress chief Ajay Rai's earlier comments. He said, "Patole is doing exactly what the Uttar Pradesh Congress president did before the war, when he mocked the Rafale jet, calling it a toy and tying lemon and green chilies to it. And it was with that same Rafale that we entered Pakistan and struck them. What Patole is saying doesn't make any sense..."

Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, India launched Operation Sindoor, striking nine terror infrastructure in Pakistan and in the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on May 7. In response, Pakistan tried to attack the border regions but India successfully neutralised drone, and missile attacks.
