Voting for assembly elections in both states is underway, with exit poll results expected to be released after 6 pm. By 3 pm, Maharashtra had recorded a voter turnout of 45.53%, while Jharkhand saw a significantly higher turnout at 61.47%. In the bypoll for Maharashtra's Nanded Lok Sabha seat, voter turnout stood at 41.58%.

Maharashtra Voting Trends
Polling in Maharashtra began at 7 am, where the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance aims to retain power, and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition seeks a resurgence. This year, the state has increased its polling booths to 1,00,186, up from 96,654 in the 2019 elections.

The district of Gadchiroli led with a turnout of 62.99%, with specific constituencies such as Aheri recording 66.27% and Armori 60.50%. In contrast, Mumbai city district registered lower voter activity, with a turnout of 40.89%, while Mumbai suburban district recorded 39.34%. Notable constituencies in Mumbai included Colaba with 33.44%, Mahim with 45.56%, and Worli with 39.11%.

In Jharkhand, districts like Pakaur and Jamtara recorded the highest turnouts at 69.31% and 68.24%, respectively, as of 3 pm. Other districts also saw strong participation, with Dumka at 64.79%, Deoghar at 64.55%, and Godda at 62.91%.

The high turnout in many areas underscores the intense political battle in both states. While the Congress is absent from exit polls, the results will provide an early indication of voter preferences and potential shifts in the political landscape.
