Coldplay Concerts In India Drive Hotel Prices To ₹5 Lakh For Three Nights In Mumbai
Hotels within a 20-kilometer radius of the Navi Mumbai venue where Coldplay is set to perform in January are charging up to ₹5 lakh for a three-night stay, a price hike surpassing even those seen on New Year's Eve.
Most nearby hotels, including five-star properties, are fully booked for January 18, 19, and 21, the dates of Coldplay's India tour, according to hotel aggregator apps.

For instance, both the Courtyard by Marriott near the venue and Taj Vivanta in Vashi currently have no available rooms, as reported by MakeMyTrip.
With overwhelming demand for the concert tickets, which sold out within minutes on BookMyShow, hotels are seizing the opportunity to capitalize on the frenzy. Following the rush, Coldplay announced a third show on January 21.
Fortune Select Exotica in Vashi, part of the ITC Hotel Group, is charging ₹2.45 lakh for a room accommodating three guests for three nights from January 17 to 20. Meanwhile, Fern Residency in Turbhe is pricing a room for two at nearly ₹2 lakh for the same three-night period.
Regenza by Tunga, another hotel in Vashi, is asking ₹4.45 lakh for a three-night stay during the concert, as listed on MakeMyTrip.
These hotels typically charge between ₹7,000 and ₹30,000 per night for a room, indicating a significant markup.
Such exorbitant rates are usually seen during year-end festivities and a few days thereafter, but the prices during Coldplay's performance far exceed those typical for that time.
For example, the Taj Ends Land in Bandra, Mumbai, is listing a room for two at over ₹34,000 for the night of January 17, while its New Year's Eve rate is around ₹32,000.
