Central Railway Schedules Night Blocks At Dombivli Station For Upcoming Foot-Over-Bridge Installation

Central Railway will implement night blocks at Dombivli station on October 15 and 16 for foot-over-bridge installation, affecting train services. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure amid increased train operations for upcoming festivals.

The Central Railway has scheduled special night blocks at Dombivli station for launching foot-over-bridge girders. These blocks will occur on October 15 and 16 from 12:20 am to 3 am. Train services between Diva and Kalyan will be disrupted during these hours. The block affects the UP and DOWN fast lines, as well as the 5th and 6th lines.

Previously, a four-day block took place from October 11 to October 14 for pre non-Interlocking works related to Karjat Yard remodelling. This earlier block was essential for preparing the infrastructure for upcoming changes. The current block aims to facilitate the installation of a new 12-metre wide foot-over-bridge at Dombivli station.

Train Diversions and Regulations

During the block on October 15 and 16, several train diversions are planned. Down Mail/Express Trains numbered 11041, 22865, and 22538 will use the DN fast line between Diva and Kalyan. Meanwhile, UP Mail/Express Trains numbered 11020 and 18519 will take a detour via the Kalyan-Panvel section with stops at Panvel and Thane for Kalyan passengers.

Additionally, some trains will experience regulation delays. Train No. 22104 will pause at Kalyan for about 25 minutes, while Train No. 12102 will have a delay of around 20 minutes at the same station. Train No. 18030 is set to be regulated at Khadavli for approximately ten minutes.

Festival Season Train Services

In anticipation of Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, Central Railway plans to operate around 1,466 trains. Diwali celebrations are scheduled from October 18-22, while Chhath Puja is set for October 27-28 in 2025. This increase in train services aims to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during these festive periods.

The Central Railway's efforts to manage both infrastructural upgrades and festival demands highlight their commitment to improving passenger experiences. By coordinating these blocks and additional services efficiently, they aim to minimise disruptions while enhancing travel convenience during peak times.
