2002 hit-and-run case: Bombay HC to hear Salman Khan's bail plea today

Mumbai, May 8: After being granted 5 years of prison in the 2002 hit-and-run case, Bombay High Court will today hear actor Salman Khan's plea for his bail.

Though Salman himself won't be present for the hearing, his legal team will be present. Security around the Bombay High Court was stepped up ahead of the hearing.

Salman was convicted on Wednesday in the 2002 hit-and-run case and was granted five years in prison but on the same day his team appealed in the Bombay High Court and he was granted bail till Friday.

Advocate Amit Desai will be leading the defence. If the Bombay HC rejects his plea, Salman can then move the apex court. The hearing will begin at 11 am.
