BMW Hit-And-Run-Case: Shiv Sena Removes Accused Father Rajesh Shah As Party's Deputy Leader
Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, father of Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case accused Mihir Shah, has been removed from his position as deputy leader of the party.
His son is the main suspect in the hit-and-run incident that led to the death of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa. The development comes a day after the Mumbai Police arrested Mihir Shah in Virar. He had been on the run since the car he was allegedly driving struck a scooter on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli on Sunday, July 7.

Rajesh Shah, who is also accused in the case, is currently out on bail. Police have stated that Rajesh Shah actively facilitated Mihir's escape after the car crash.
Mihir Shah and other accused individuals, including Rajesh Shah's driver Rajrishi Bidawat, have been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), according to the police, according to a report in PTI.
Chilling details of the accident emerged from CCTV footage presented by the police in court on Monday. The footage shows Kaveri Nakhwa, who was riding pillion on the two-wheeler, being dragged by the BMW car for 1.5 kilometers before the car stopped. Mihir and Bidawat pulled the woman off the bonnet, placed her on the road, and swapped seats. While reversing the car, Bidawat ran over the victim before fleeing.
