Attack, vandalise, if asked to pay toll tax: MNS chief Raj Thackeray

Thackeray's warning came on Sunday during an inauguration ceremony of the MNS office at Vashi in Navi Mumbai.
"I am instructing all MNS workers, colleagues and people not to pay toll at any toll booth in Maharashtra from now on. If someone opposes you, fight them."
"If they stop you then oppose them, doesn't matter if there are long traffic jams," he told party workers.
"Aadve aale tar tudvun kadha" (if anyone raises a voice, thrash them). Unless you are told why toll is being levied, no one will pay," he further said.

The toll posts attacked are in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, Aurangabad, Sangli and Nagpur.
Party legislator Pravin Darekar and at least 25 others were detained at Dahisar after party workers attacked a toll plaza.
Following the attacks on the toll booth, security has been strengthened across the state.
Earlier, MNS workers had reportedly vandalised the Katai Toll Naka in Dombivali in the Thane district in protest against poor road condition and illegal toll collection.
The Shiv Sena too had attacked four toll booths in Kolhapur earlier in January.
