Assembly Election 2024: Voting Starts In Maharashtra And Jharkhand, See How To Download Voter Slip

Polling for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections began on Wednesday at 7 am. Voters across the states are casting their ballots to elect representatives for all 288 seats and 38 seats respectively.

In Maharashtra, voting will continue until 6 pm, meanwhile, in Jharkhand, voting will conclude at 5 pm, except at sensitive polling stations where voting will end at 4 pm. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 23 for both the states.

How To Download Voter Slip

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance is aiming to retain power, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is striving for a strong return in Maharashtra.

In Jharkhand, the election is primarily a two-way contest between the JMM-led alliance and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

One essential document for voters is the voter information slip (VIS), which provides important details for each individual. This slip contains information such as the voter's name, age, gender, assembly constituency, and polling station location, along with a QR code for quick verification.

Steps To Download Voter Slip

To download your voter slip, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the Election Commission of India's website: https://voters.eci.gov.in/.
2. Click on the "E-EPIC Download" section on the homepage.
3. Register with the required details.
4. Log in using your credentials.
5. Enter your Voter ID card (EPIC) number and click "Search."
6. Verify your details using the OTP sent to your phone.
7. Download the voter slip.

Where To Use Voter Slip?

At the polling station, show your voter slip to the First Polling Officer. While the slip helps confirm your name in the electoral roll, it does not serve as an identity document.

Can You Vote Without A Voter Slip?

Yes, if you do not have a voter slip but your name is on the electoral roll, you can still vote. You will need to show one of the 13 valid photo ID documents as identification.
