Amrit Bharat Yojana: Dadar, Panvel, And More Mumbai Stations Set For Major Transformation
Under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, significant changes are underway for railway stations to enhance passenger experience and convenience, according to Lokmat. This initiative aims to upgrade facilities at selected stations, including Dadar, Kandivali, Dahisar, and Panvel in Mumbai.
The redevelopment work at these stations focuses on various improvements. Key enhancements include better accessibility, upgraded waiting areas, modern toilet facilities, and the installation of lifts and escalators where needed. Cleanliness is a priority, and free Wi-Fi will be provided to passengers. Additionally, the 'One Station One Product' initiative will promote local products at these stations.

The plan also includes the introduction of executive lounges, dedicated business meeting spaces, and improved landscaping. Each station will be designed to integrate seamlessly with its surrounding urban environment, offering multimodal connectivity and facilities for disabled persons. Sustainable and eco-friendly measures are a core aspect of the redevelopment, aiming to create a greener and more efficient transit system.
The Amrit Bharat Yojana scheme is not limited to these stations alone. Other prominent stations being redeveloped include Andheri, Bandra Terminal, Borivali, Byculla, Charni Road, CSMT, Chinchpokli, Grant Road, Jogeshwari, Kanjurmarg, Kurla, LTT, Lower Parel, Malad, Marine Lines, Matunga, Central, Parel, Prabhadevi, Sandhurst Road, Wadala Road, Vidyavihar, and Vikhroli.
