Amitabh Bachchan posts inspiring polling photograph on his FB page

Mumbai, April 26: Bollywood megastar

on Friday posted on his

page an inspiring photograph of a differently abled woman using her legs to carry out the formalities of voting procedure at a polling booth on April 24.

The photograph was liked by over 2 lakh people and shared over 41,000 times till 9.30 am on Saturday. Over 5,000 people left a comment in the photograph, saluting the person who defied all disadvantages to exercise her voting right. It came with Bachchan's own saying: "Look at this ... admire it .. and if you still have not voted .. shame on you !!"

Bachchan himself voted on April 24, the day the Maximum City went to polling.

Mumbai was criticised for its low turnout on the voting day, just like Bangalore on April 17, though the turnouts in both cities were bigger in comparison to the figures of 2009. In Mumbai, however, several people couldn't cast their ballots since their names were missing from the electoral rolls. The Election Commission faced ire of the citizens and also tendered an apology. Election Commissioner HS Brahma said it was "a very very massive operational mistake which should not have happened".
