Air India Deploys New Boeing 777 Aircraft To All 3 US Destinations From Mumbai

Air India has introduced its newly acquired B777 aircraft to all three of its non-stop US routes connecting Mumbai to New York JFK, Newark Liberty Airport (New Jersey), and San Francisco.

This marks a significant upgrade in passenger experience for North American travelers flying with Air India. The aircraft are equipped with modern-generation seats and inflight entertainment systems in all classes, ensuring a more comfortable journey for passengers.

Moreover, Air India's route between Mumbai and London Heathrow (AI130/AI131) will also now feature the new B777 aircraft, offering modern interiors, including First Class cabins.

The configuration of the B777-200LR serving San Francisco and New York-JFK includes 28 Business Class, 48 Premium Economy, and 212 Economy Class seats. Meanwhile, the B777-300ER serving Newark Liberty and London features eight First Class, 40 Business, and 280 Economy Class seats.

The Boeing 777-300ER is a long-range wide-body aircraft capable of flying non-stop from India to the US, further enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

Campbell Wilson, Air India's Managing Director and CEO, expressed the airline's commitment to enhancing the passenger experience. The introduction of seven new B777s over the past year, with four more and six Airbus A350s expected in the coming months, marks the beginning of a comprehensive interior upgrade for the airline's widebody fleet starting in mid-2024. This initiative ensures Air India passengers will enjoy improved in-flight amenities and modernized interiors throughout their journey.
