Gitanjali Nagpal memory comes alive; another actor found begging on streets

Mumbai, April 28: Nine years ago, a model named Gitanjali Nagpal made the headlines after she was found living off the streets and turning a beggar in New Delhi, history repeated itself, this time in the glamour town.

The Oshiwara police have recently arrested an actor begging and stealing on the roads of Lokhandwala area here.

Starlet Mitali Sharma, a resident of Delhi, reportedly wanted to make it big in the tinsel town but her fortunes did not back her and she ended up as a beggar. Her career reportedly got stalled after working in a few regional films. She was also abandoned by her parents after she decided to pursue a career in acting.

Mitali had done a few modeling assignments and Bhojpuri films. She was found breaking a car window in a locality in Oshiwara, reports said.

The police said the woman did not eat anything for the last couple of days and they were trying to contact her family. No one has come forward so far, it was said.

Mitali has been admitted to a mental asylum in Thane, the reports added.
