Achalpur Assembly Election Result LIVE: BJP’s Pravin Vasantrao Holds Strong Lead Over PJP’s Bachchu Babarao

The Achalpur seat in Maharashtra has been closely watched as the vote counting for the state assembly elections progresses. This constituency, which cast its ballots on November 20, has a history of tight races and significant political shifts.

The 2019 elections saw Prahar Janshakti Party's Bachchu Babarao Kadu clinching victory from Congress's Aniruddha Alias Bablubhau Subhanrao Deshmukh, marking a notable moment in the region's electoral scene.

In a detailed look at the past electoral performances, the 2019 assembly elections witnessed Bachchu Babarao Kadu of the Prahar Janshakti Party winning with a considerable margin of 8,396 votes, which accounts for 4.57% of the total votes. Kadu garnered 81,252 votes, securing a vote share of 43.88%. He outperformed Aniruddha Alias Bablubhau Subhanrao Deshmukh of the Congress party, who received 72,541 votes, representing 39.35% of the vote share. Furthermore, Sunita Barendra Rao Fiske from Shiv Sena ranked third with 15,064 votes (8.14%), followed by AIMIM's Abdul Nazim Abdul Rauf in fourth place, securing 6,329 votes (3.42%). A total of 183,665 valid votes were cast, with a voter turnout of 67.31%.

Going back to the 2014 assembly elections, the scenario was somewhat different. Independent candidate Bachchu alias Omprakash Babarao Kadu emerged victorious, with a total of 59,234 votes and a 33.02% share of the vote. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Ashok Shridharpant Bansod, was the runner-up with 49,064 votes, which is 27.35% of the votes. Kadu managed to secure a win over Bansod by a margin of 10,170 votes, equivalent to 5.68%. The total valid votes counted in this constituency reached 178,917, reflecting a 70.85% turnout. The Congress's Anirudha Alias Bablibhau Subhanrao Deshmukh came in third with 26,490 votes (14.77%), and Bahujan Samajwadi Party's Mo.Rafique Shekh Gulab stood fourth with 20,602 votes (11.49%).
