Following the incident, she experienced fever and a subsequent loss of strength in her legs.

Admitted to a private hospital, Shinde underwent various tests and, as her condition deteriorated, was placed on a ventilator. The test results confirmed rabies infection.

Despite subsequent transfer to a government hospital for further treatment, Shinde passed away the following day.

The circumstances surrounding Srishti Shinde's contraction of rabies post-vaccination have prompted inquiries into the storage and administration of the vaccine. Her family is questioning whether the vaccine was stored at the requisite temperature.
