Amazon Prime Day Features Over 1000 New Products from Small Businesses and Artisans in India
On 6 and 7 August, Amazon.in will witness the launch of over 1000 new products by more than 100 small and medium businesses and start-ups. These launches will span across 17 categories, marking the occasion of Prime Day this year. Thousands of local shops on Amazon will also make their Prime Day debut in India, according to a statement.

Amazon's Launchpad programme will feature start-ups and small businesses introducing unique products in various categories. These include health and personal care, beauty and grooming, grocery, and home products. This initiative aims to bring innovative offerings to customers during the Prime Day event.
Artisans and women entrepreneurs from Amazon India's 'Karigar' and 'Saheli' programs will participate in Prime Day. They will offer deals on handmade items such as Tribes India crafts, Aditya Blue Pottery, and Giva Jewelry. These programs aim to support local artisans and women entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to showcase their products.
The Karigar storefront will feature over 270 crafts sourced from artisans nationwide. Government emporiums, along with APCO handlooms from Andhra Pradesh and Mrignayanee from Madhya Pradesh, will present handwoven apparel. These include Mangalgiri, Venkatgiri, Chirala, Maheshwari, and Chanderi garments.
This year's Prime Day in India highlights the diversity of products available through Amazon's platform. By including artisans and women entrepreneurs, Amazon aims to promote traditional crafts and empower small businesses. The event provides a significant opportunity for these sellers to reach a broader audience.
The inclusion of government emporiums and handloom products showcases India's rich textile heritage. It also supports local economies by promoting traditional craftsmanship. This initiative aligns with Amazon's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses across the country.
Prime Day serves as a platform for small businesses to gain visibility and expand their customer base. By launching new products during this event, these businesses can leverage increased traffic and interest from customers seeking unique offerings.
