Oneindia.in launches Bengali portal

India's leading online language portal Oneindia added a fresh feather to its crown with the launching of the Bengali portal http://bengali.oneindia.in. Starting a portal in one of India's most-spoken language is a major step that the Oneindia family has taken towards reaching out to a bigger audience. Bengali is the latest addition to Oneindia's language stable that comprises English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati.

With the launch of its Bengali portal, Oneindia aims to widen its base in East India as well.

The Bengali site will regularly update news stories round the clock, including breaking news, sports, political developments and stories of national and international significance. The readers will also find relevant content in categories like films, jokes, picture galleries and videos.

Bengali Oneindia has also been made in responsive format with a view that usage of the internet through hand-held devices is going up. In India, internet traffic via mobile phones has overtaken desktop Internet usage in May 2012.
