PM Modi Announces Compensation For Victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the fire incident and extended his condolences to the families of those who died.
He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured and said authorities were providing all possible assistance to those affected.

The Prime Minister announced an ex gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of each deceased victim. Injured persons will receive financial assistance of ₹50,000.

Yogi Adityanath Cancels Event, Rushes To Lucknow

Following news of the fire, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cancelled a scheduled event in Aligarh and immediately decided to return to Lucknow.

Addressing a gathering before leaving, the Chief Minister expressed sorrow over the loss of lives, especially children who were reportedly caught in the blaze.

Yogi said he had directed the Director General of Police and the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to visit the site and submit a detailed report. He also announced that he would personally inspect the situation and ensure accountability if negligence is found.

The Chief Minister is expected to review rescue operations and later visit the Trauma Centre to meet injured victims and their families.

Rahul Gandhi Calls Incident Heartbreaking

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi described the incident as extremely heartbreaking.

In a message shared on social media, Gandhi expressed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the fire.
He said the loss of lives in such an incident was deeply painful and hoped that those receiving treatment recover soon.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also expressed grief over the tragedy.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak provided details about the building where the fire broke out.

According to him, the premises housed multiple establishments, including a coaching centre, an animation centre and a pet shop.

Pathak said several students sustained injuries while trying to escape the building. Those injured have been shifted to hospitals where they are receiving treatment.

Eyewitness Describes Chaotic Scene

An eyewitness who was present near the site recalled the panic that followed the fire.
According to the witness, smoke was seen coming out of the building, prompting local residents to alert the police and fire department.

The eyewitness claimed that several people were rescued by locals before emergency services arrived. He also said one individual jumped from the building in an attempt to escape and suffered serious injuries.

The witness alleged that by the time rescue teams fully responded, the fire had spread extensively through the building.

Akhilesh Yadav Demands Thorough Investigation

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also expressed grief over the deaths. Paying tribute to the victims, Yadav said the government must ensure the best possible medical treatment for those injured.
