At Tata Motors' Lucknow plant, the 10 lakhth vehicle rollout was attended by CM Yogi Adityanath, who highlighted Uttar Pradesh's manufacturing ambitions and infrastructure growth, while Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran pledged to produce 20 lakh vehicles in five years.

CM Yogi Links Tata Milestone to UP's Manufacturing Push

Addressing the gathering in Lucknow, CM Yogi said the occasion was not just about an industrial achievement but a sign of Uttar Pradesh's transformation into a major manufacturing destination.

"This programme is not merely an industrial revolution, but the launch pad of that historic flight which is preparing to establish Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, as a Global Manufacturing Hub," he said.

He also used a science analogy to underline the state's development momentum.

"When we talk about momentum, it is not just M. Where there is Mass, there is Velocity too, and that Velocity gives us new strength," CM Yogi said.

He added, "Velocity is the symbol of the double speed of the double engine government. This momentum is no longer limited to statistics, but is now clearly visible on the ground as well."

According to him, fast-paced infrastructure growth and improved connectivity are now creating a strong foundation for manufacturing in the state.

From Poor Roads and Fear of Investment to Expressway Leader

CM Yogi contrasted Uttar Pradesh's current industrial rise with the state's earlier challenges, saying that investment was once held back by weak infrastructure and law-and-order concerns.

He said that in the past, the state struggled with poor connectivity, limited resources, and uncertainty over even basic road quality.

"There were many challenges in Uttar Pradesh earlier. Connectivity was not good. Resources were limited. It was difficult to determine whether it was a road or a pothole. There was a security crisis. Neither the intent was clear nor was there any policy. As a result, people were afraid to invest," he said.

Highlighting the change, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh now accounts for 55% of India's total expressways. He also announced that the Ganga Expressway is set to be inaugurated later this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that once the nearly 600-km expressway is fully operational, Uttar Pradesh's share in India's expressway network will rise to 60%.

Airports Expansion and Jevar Project Cited as Growth Markers

CM Yogi also pointed to aviation infrastructure as another sign of the state's transformation.

He said that nine years ago, Uttar Pradesh had only two airports, and even those were not operational. Today, 16 airports are fully functional across the state.

He further noted that last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the country's largest airport at Jevar to the nation, describing it as another major step in strengthening Uttar Pradesh's connectivity and industrial prospects.

Tata Motors Targets 20 Lakh Vehicles in Next Five Years

Speaking at the event, CM Yogi said the launch of the 10 lakhth vehicle from Tata Motors' Lucknow facility, after a 34-year journey, was more than just a production milestone for a single plant.

"The launch of the 10 lakhth vehicle is not just the production achievement of one plant, but an indicator of UP becoming a global hub for supply. This flight is not meant to stop, but to reach the heights of the sky," he said.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran also described the moment as a significant achievement for the company's commercial vehicle operations in Lucknow.

"Today, all of us have witnessed the 10 lakhth vehicle here. Commercial vehicles are manufactured here. There is a strong ecosystem of suppliers, partners and community. We will manufacture 20 lakh vehicles in the next five years," Chandrasekaran said.

The Lucknow event, centred around the rollout of the 10 lakhth vehicle, also served as a political and economic showcase for the Uttar Pradesh government, which projected the Tata Motors milestone as proof that the state's industrial push is now translating into visible on-ground results.
