Rahul Gandhi invokes UP riot row, taunts Akhilesh at his own den

Lucknow, Oct 9: Rahul Gandhi has gone through a busy schedule on Wednesday, Oct 9 as the Congress vice president attended two back-to-back rallies in Aligarh and Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at the rally organised in Aligarh, Rahul hurled direct attack on Akhilesh Yadav invoking controversy over Muzaffarnagar riots.

The young Gandhi family scion claimed that communal violence in Muzaffarnagar was instigated by political parties. He also asserted that only Congress can save and develop Uttar Pradesh. Rahul's statement was directed at the present statement government run by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadab and former state government run by Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati.

The Congress once again highlighted achievements of the UPA government at teh centre. He said, "With the passage of food bill, there will be food for your family daily. We gave employment to crores of people, and now we have got the food security bill for you.

"Land has been forcibly taken from the farmers due to wrong policies. Is the UP government working? There are no jobs in the state," he added while criticising Akhilesh's government.
