Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh, once considered a Bimaru state, is now progressing and significantly contributing to India's economy, highlighting improvements in law and order and emphasizing the importance of preserving the nation's civilisation and culture.

Addressing a 'Sant Sammelan' in Uttarakhand, he asserted that Uttar Pradesh is no longer backward but has become a key pillar supporting the country's economic growth.

Uttar Pradesh Moving Beyond Its Past

Highlighting improvements in law and order, Yogi Adityanath said the state has freed itself from riots and curfews and is now advancing rapidly toward development.

He remarked, "There is no chaos in Uttar Pradesh anymore. There are no riots, no unrest, and no hooliganism. In other words, no curfew, no riots, everything is well in UP."

The Chief Minister added that Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath are not just centres of faith but also symbols of national consciousness, from where the nation derives strength.

"India Is Not Just a Piece of Land"

Calling it a privilege to participate in the gathering in Uttarakhand, he reflected on the transformation India has witnessed over the past decade.

Yogi Adityanath said, "Today, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this event in Uttarakhand. Over the past 11 years, we have witnessed widespread transformation in the country. This is the saga of nation-building that had been awaited for centuries. India is not merely a piece of land; it is also the eternal centre of the sage tradition. Here, culture is not just about faith but a complete way of life."

He emphasised that India was not formed at a single moment in time nor shaped by one authority alone, but flows naturally from Sanatan consciousness. Referring to the Supreme Court's guiding principle, he said, "Yato Dharma Tato Jaya," meaning where there is dharma, there is victory, adding that "Dharma is never weak; it is deliberately weakened."

Civilisation, Culture and Self-Reliance

The Chief Minister warned that any nation neglecting its civilisation and culture risks both its present and future.

He stated, "Any nation that ignores its civilisation and culture can neither safeguard its present nor secure its future. Vedic India symbolised a self-reliant civilisation. Before the arrival of invaders, India was not merely a geographical entity; it was a fully developed civilisation and culture. This nation was built through the penance of our sages, the labour of farmers, and the creativity of artisans."

According to him, the government has promoted centres of faith with respect, honoured heritage, and worked to preserve it. As a result, he said, Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from being labelled a "Bimaru" state to becoming an economic breakthrough that is steadily progressing on a new developmental trajectory.
