Muzaffaranagar riot accused Sadhvi Prachi demands security

Muzaffarnagar, August 27: A day after BJP MLA Sangeet Som got Z plus security, another riot accused Sadhvi Prachi demanded security for her safety on Wednesday.

Sadhvi Prachi claimed that there is threat to her life and she was attacked in the past.

On Tuesday, BJP MLA from Saradhana assembly seat in Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh, was accorded Z plus category security by the home ministery, a move that led to huge criticism by the opposition parties.

Sangeet Som's name emerged during last year's communal clasheds in Muzaffarnager. He had reportedly instigated the violence by giving hate speeches and circulating a fake video.

Congress leader Manish Tewari said 'it is ironical that riot victims are homeless while the accused are being given security.'

Congress senior leader Digvijay Singh also hit out at the BJP saying, "Sangeet Som is someone who is an accused in Muzaffarnagar riots. He has been felicitated by BJP on a stage; also another accused Sanjeev Baliyan is now Union Minister. Only such accused will get Z security under NDA Government."
