CM Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur for Two Days, Inspects NCC Academy and Heritage Corridor

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is spending two days in Gorakhpur, focusing on infrastructure, security and public welfare. On 28 December 2025, the visit centres on the under-construction National Cadet Corps (NCC) Academy at Talkandala and the heritage corridor, along with a blanket distribution programme for vulnerable residents at city night shelters.

According to officials, Yogi Adityanath is expected at the Circuit House around 3 p.m. on Sunday. From there, the Chief Minister will travel directly to Talkandala, where the NCC Academy is under construction, to examine progress on site. After the inspection, the tour moves to the TP Nagar night shelter complex for a blanket distribution event.

At TP Nagar’s rain basera, Yogi Adityanath will distribute blankets to helpless and needy people. The second day, Monday, is focused on sports and cultural planning. Yogi Adityanath will attend the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the “MLA Sports Competition” at Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College. The Chief Minister may also review preparations for the Khichdi fair at Gorakhnath temple and the Gorakhpur Mahotsav at Champa Devi Park, scheduled from 11 to 13 January.

Data shared by the district administration shows the NCC Academy at Talkandala is being built at a cost of Rs 47.88 crore. Construction is handled by Jal Nigam’s Construction and Design Services, Unit-42. The project aims to provide training and residential facilities for cadets, and the current inspection focuses on civil works, timelines and resource deployment.

Ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival, District Magistrate Deepak Meena and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajkaran Nayyar inspected all proposed programme venues on Saturday. During their visit, the DM and SSP issued directions on security deployment, route planning and smooth traffic flow. Agencies were instructed to ensure crowd management plans and emergency responses are in place.

Heritage corridor Gorakhpur visit and cleanliness drive data

The municipal corporation has run an extensive cleaning drive along the heritage corridor before Yogi Adityanath’s visit. The operation continued from early Saturday morning until late evening. More than 200 sanitation workers took part, led by Chief Sanitation and Food Inspector (Health) Dinesh Kumar Birounia and Zonal Sanitary Officer Akhilesh Kumar Srivastava.

Teams carried out deep cleaning of roads and drains from the Transport Nagar rain basera through the heritage corridor, Pandey Hata, Ghantaghar and Reti Road up to Dharamshala. Special cleaning was also completed in the Dharamshala rain basera complex. Officials described the drive as part of a broader attempt to present cleaner public spaces during high-profile inspections and upcoming events.
