Caught on Camera: Flower Pots Stolen Hours After PM Modi Inaugurates Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow

A video circulating widely on social media has triggered embarrassment for local authorities in Lucknow, after residents were seen carrying away decorative flower pots that had been placed along city roads for an official event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The incident reportedly took place just hours after the Prime Minister inaugurated the Rashtra Prerna Sthal, a landmark complex dedicated to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Viral Video Shows Decorations Being Taken Away

The viral clip shows several residents removing flower pots from roadsides that had been decorated ahead of the high-profile inauguration. Some individuals were seen loading the pots onto two-wheelers, while others carried them away by hand.

Apart from the flower pots, cutouts of Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also reportedly taken from the venue area. The video has sparked sharp reactions online, with many questioning civic responsibility following major public events.

PM Modi's Visit and High-Profile Attendance

Prime Minister Modi was in Lucknow on Thursday to inaugurate the Rashtra Prerna Sthal on the 101st birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The event was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is the Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The inauguration marked a significant moment for the state, with leaders highlighting Vajpayee's contribution to Indian politics and public life.

Rashtra Prerna Sthal Built to Honour Vajpayee's Legacy

The Rashtra Prerna Sthal complex has been developed as a tribute to Vajpayee, who represented Lucknow in the Lok Sabha for five consecutive terms in 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004. Spread across 65 acres, the project has been constructed at a cost of Rs 230 crore.

The complex is envisioned as a permanent national asset aimed at promoting leadership values, national service, cultural awareness, and public inspiration.

Statues, Museum and Historical Significance

The site features 65-foot-high bronze statues of BJP ideologues Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, along with a statue of Vajpayee. A state-of-the-art museum, housed in a lotus-shaped structure and spanning 98,000 square feet, showcases the contributions of these leaders to nation-building.

A Bharat Ratna awardee, Vajpayee served briefly as prime minister for 13 days in 1996, followed by a 13-month term from 1998 to 1999. He later became the first non-Congress leader to complete a full five-year term from 1999 to 2004. Vajpayee passed away in 2018 at the age of 93.
