Sindhi Pulao Recipe: A Traditional and Delicious Rice Dish for All Occasions
Sindhi Pulao is a delightful rice dish from the Sindhi cuisine. It combines aromatic spices with basmati rice, creating a flavourful meal. This recipe is simple yet rich in taste, making it perfect for any occasion. The use of spices like garam masala and curry leaves adds depth to the dish, while cashews provide a crunchy texture.
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 5 medium onions, finely chopped
- 3-5 green chiles, finely chopped
- A handful of curry leaves
- 7-10 cashews
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chile powder
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups uncooked basmati rice
- 4 cups water

- Large pot or pan
- Wooden spoon or spatula
- Measuring spoons and cups
- Knife and chopping board
Procedure
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn dark brown.
- Add the green chiles, curry leaves, and cashews to the pot.
- Stir in the garam masala, pepper, red chile powder, bay leaf, and salt.
- Add the basmati rice to the pot and mix well with the spices.
- Pour in the water and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered until all the water is absorbed.
- Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
