Procedure

  1. Mix the rice flour with hot water and salt in a bowl.

  3. Press the dough through an idiyappam presser onto banana leaves sprinkled with grated coconut. Alternatively, press directly onto an idli pan.
  4. Steam the pressed dough for 5-10 minutes. You can add more grated coconut on top before steaming if desired.
