- Oil
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- 4-5 pieces finely chopped chiles
- 200 g chickpea flour (besan)
- 500 ml water
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- 3 average-sized tomatoes, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Red chile powder to taste
- Turmeric to taste

- Skillet or frying pan
- Spoon for stirring
- Measuring spoons and cups
Procedure
- Heat oil in a skillet. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chiles. Fry for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chickpea flour (besan) to the skillet. Stir continuously until the besan turns golden brown.
- Pour in the water while stirring to avoid lumps. Continue stirring for at least five minutes.
- Add coriander leaves, tomatoes, salt, red chile powder, and turmeric. Mix well.
- Simmer the mixture until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve hot with white rice and fried potatoes for a complete meal.
