Youth seriously injured, robbed off mobile, cash in West Bengal

Malda (WB), June 13: A 30-year old youth was seriously injured after being attacked by robbers who took away his mobile and cash and hit with revolver butt at Englishbazar in Malda district last night.

The gang also fired one round in the air to scare away the locals.

Sanjay Basak (30) was waylaid by the gang while returning from a marriage reception at a village under Englishbazar police station limits and robbed off his mobile phone and cash, police said.

As he tried to resist the attackers beat him with revolver butt severely and left bleeding at a spot. As locals rushed on hearing the scream, the gang blank fired one round and escaped.

Basak was now under treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital.
