WB: Youth beaten to death following accident
Midnapore (WB), Sep 19: An 18-year-old youth was today beaten to death allegedly by a mob after his bike collided with a two-wheeler at Golbazar in Kharagpur area of West Midnapore district tonight, police said.
Rohit Tanti's motorbike collided with another two-wheeler at Golbazar and an altercation began between the two riders at around 10 PM, they said.

Police said that some people who were nearby joined the quarrel and started beating Rohit, who eventually died.Today was his birthday.
When police tried to intervene, they were attacked by the mob following which the police lobbed tear gas shells to control the situation.
Some shops were also set on fire in the locality, the police said, adding tension prevailed in the area.
