West Bengal poll 1st phase: Final voter turnout goes up to 84.22%
Kolkata, April 7: The final voter turnout in first part of phase one of the Assembly poll held in the Maoist hotbed of Jangalmahal in West Bengal on April 4 was 84.22 per cent.
According to the final report of the Election Commission released to the media on Wednesday, the average turnout in 18 constituencies in the three districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia was 84.22 per cent of the electorate. [81% voter turnout was recorded previously in Phase 1A of the Bengal polls]

The Salboni constituency in West Midnapore district recorded the highest turnout of 90.18 per cent. [Top contests of 2016 Bengal polls]
The lowest turnout was registered in Purulia constituency in Purulia district with 79.76 per cent.
Out of the 18 seats, 13 are treated by the Election Commission as Left Wing Extremism-affected constituencies.
Polling had ended on Monday evening without any major incident according to the poll panel.
