Trinamool Congress to hold massive rally in Kolkata today

Kolkata, July 21: Many people are bracing themselves for Trinamool Congress (

) mega rally today in Kolkata as the party observes Martyrs' Day.

Every year on 21 July TMC organises a massive rally remembering 13 youths who were killed in a police firing on July 21, 1993. Lakhs of supporters are expected to take on the streets of Kolkata on Monday.

Many parts of the city are likely to be shut, affecting the traffic in the city. Most of the schools have already declared a holiday.

Like many other Mamata Banerjee's rallies, Bengali stars including party MP Dev are likely to be present for the occassion. The party met earlier to chalk out the entire day's schedule.

Reports suggested that buses will ferry TMC workers as a result affecting the public in general but transport minister Madan Mitra has assured a sufficient number of buses for commuters.
