Spooky Selfie: Drunk Man In West Bengal Caught Taking Pics With Skeleton Dug Up From Grave, Gets Thrashed

An intoxicated young man was apprehended in West Bengal after allegedly exhuming a skeleton from a grave and attempting to take selfies with it, reported India Today.

The bizarre incident occurred in Contai, located in East Medinipur district, and has left local residents in shock.

According to sources, the skeleton belonged to a local woman who had been buried around seven years ago.

The youth, identified as Prabhakar Sit, was reportedly taking selfies with the remains when he was caught by villagers.

Outraged by the act, the locals roughed him up before the police arrived at the scene.

A confrontation broke out between the villagers and the police when officers attempted to take custody of the youth.

The locals initially resisted handing him over, and the situation escalated when bricks were hurled at the police. Three officers sustained injuries during the clash.

After two hours of tension, the police managed to bring the situation under control and rescued Prabhakar, who was severely injured by the mob.

He was then taken to Kanthi Subdistrict Hospital for medical attention.

A bottle of alcohol was recovered from the site, leading authorities to suspect that the young man was intoxicated during the incident.

Police sources revealed that Prabhakar had previously worked at a hotel in another state but lost his job due to alcoholism.

However, the motive behind his exhumation of the skeleton remains unclear.
