Mamata's minister chants "Modi, Modi", flaunts victory sign
Mitra, who is also the sports minister of the state, later rubbished the charges, saying he had never committed such an act and always hated Modi for he felt the man was behind deadly riots. "I have nothing but hate for Modi in my heart," Mitra said.
Later speaking to ABP Ananda, Mitra said: "I was saying at the event that the Indian Premier League match in Eden which was scheduled for May 14 but was cancelled due to security reasons, would be surely held on May 20-22. It was then when I saw some boys talking about Modi and I stopped them. I told them not to chant Modi's name always. That's what happened."
Mitra later said he could never do such an act for he hates Narendra Modi
The Opposition in the state was, however, not ready to accept the justification. The Congress and Left said the BJP and Trinamool Congress have a secret understanding between them no matter how much they quarrel in the open.
It may be mentioned here that TMC chief and state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has unleashed a fierce attack on Modi during the campaigning for this general election, instigating the latter to react, leading to a ugly personality clash.
