Mamata Banerjee Slams BJP After Its Worker Calls A Cop "Khalistani", Video Goes Viral

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised the BJP after some of its leaders were engaged in a heated argument with security personnel at the Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district. Sharing a video on the micro-blogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, Mamata Banerjee highlighted the confrontation between BJP leaders and a Sikh police officer, who was called Khalistani.

Slamming the BJP for being radical and doing divisive politics, Mamata Banerjee said, "I VEHEMENTLY CONDEMN this audacious attempt to undermine the reputation of our SIKH BROTHERS & SISTERS, revered for their SACRIFICES and UNWAVERING DETERMINATION to our nation."

BJP Worker Calls A Cop Khalistani

"We stand firm in protecting Bengal's social harmony and will take stern lawful measures to prevent any attempts to disrupt it," West Bengal CM added.

The video of the incident went viral in no time and social media users criticised the saffron front for such rude behavior. According to the reports, the police officer in the viral video is Jaspreet Singh, an IPS officer of the 2016 batch, who is currently serving as Special Superintendent of Police in the Intelligence Bureau.

The viral video showed a police officer confronting the BJP leader, who called him a Khalistani. "I'm wearing a turban, that's why you call me a Khalistani? I will take action about this... You cannot attack my religion. I have not said anything about your religion," the Sikh officer said.

However, the BJP worker did not realize his mistake and a woman can be seen telling the officer to do his job. "You do your job... you just butter them up. you are sycophants," viral video shows a woman with a saffron scarf around her neck.

A BJP delegation, led by Bengal BJP chief Subhendu Adhikari, was allowed by the court to visit the victims of sexual assault in the Sandeshkhali. The delegation was stopped mid-way by the state police and asked not to raise any slogans as it may disturb the harmony.
