Mamata Banerjee dumps many ministers in cabinet reshuffle

According to reports, Chatterjee was removed from the post citing that he was being less burdened. But news reports suggest otherwise. The shuffle was a result after a meeting that was chaired by Banerjee, where Banerjee is said to have removed many ministers for their non-performance and their inability to utilise funds.
Finance Minister Amit Mitra replaced Partha Chatterjee
Banerjee said: "Partha Chatterjee was retaining many portfolios and he has also to look after the party as he is the general secretary. He was under tremendous pressure. So to lessen his burden it has been decided that Amit Mitra, who is also the Finance Minister, will look after the Industry and Commerce Department."
She also added that Chatterjee would assist her in her departments and electronics and parliamentary affairs department.
Some of the new names in the cabinet are Shashi Panja, Binay Burman and others.
