Kolkata's Acropolis Mall Fire: Rescue Ops Underway As Several Feared Trapped Inside, No Casualties Reported
A major fire erupted on the third floor of Acropolis Mall in southern Kolkata on Friday, triggering an immediate evacuation of the building.
Fire department officials dispatched at least ten fire tenders to the scene to manage and douse the blaze. The fire resulted in evacuation of people from the mall, including those working in the offices within the premises.

"The fire has been brought under control, but nothing can be said right now," DCP Jadavpur Division Bidisha Kalita told ANI.

The source of the fire remains unknown as of now. The investigation to find the same is on. Videos circulating on social media show people fleeing the mall premises to escape the blaze.

This incident marks the second major fire in Kolkata within a week, reported India Today. On Tuesday, a fire broke out at a restaurant on Park Street, another busy area in the city.

Similar to today's Acropolis mall fire, several fire tenders were deployed to extinguish the flames, and the situation was brought under control by the local police and fire brigade.
