Kolkata Rape-Murder: Police Deny Reports Of Crime Scene Being 'Vandalised', Calls It 'Unverified News'
A social media post claimed that the room where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College & Hospital had been vandalised.
This prompted a response from Kolkata Police, who clarified that the crime scene, a seminar room, had not been disturbed.

The body of a woman doctor was discovered in a seminar hall at the medical college on Friday morning, leading to the arrest of a civic volunteer on Saturday in connection with the crime.
The case has ignited widespread outrage, resulting in protests by doctors and healthcare workers across India, significantly affecting outpatient department (OPD) services this week.
On Wednesday, the situation escalated when a massive night protest in Kolkata turned chaotic, with unidentified individuals vandalizing a section of the medical establishment where the woman's body was found, according to police reports.
A user on the social media platform X alleged, "The emergency building where the crime occurred on 4th floor has been completely vandalised. The CBI was in this building this afternoon investigating the case."
Kolkata Police responded to this claim, emphasising that "the crime of scene is Seminar Room and it has not been touched."
They further warned against the spread of "unverified news," stating that legal action would be taken against those spreading rumors.
"Don't spread unverified news. We will initiate legal action for spreading rumours," read the post by Kolkata Police on X.
