Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Autopsy Reveals Horrific Violence Faced By Trainee Doctor
The tragic story of the trainee doctor, who was brutally raped and murdered while on duty at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has gripped the nation. Her death, shrouded in mystery and horror, has sparked widespread protests and left a community in mourning. Now, the details of her autopsy report have come to light, shedding further insight into the injuries she suffered.
The report, accessed by NDTV, paints a chilling picture. It confirms that the young doctor died from strangulation, with unmistakable evidence pointing to a sexual assault. The injuries she endured were not just physical but also a devastating testament to the cruelty she faced in her final moments.

Her body bore the marks of violence - wounds on her head, cheeks, lips, nose, jaw, chin, neck, and arms, down to her knees, ankles, and even her internal genitalia. The autopsy also revealed haemorrhage in her lungs and blood clots in other parts of her body, suggesting a brutal and prolonged attack.
Amid these distressing findings, the report also addresses certain claims that had fueled speculation. Contrary to the allegations made in a petition by her family, there was no evidence of "150 gm/mg of semen" in her body. Instead, the report noted the presence of a "white thick viscid fluid," though it remains unspecified what this fluid might have been. The report also clarified that there were no fractures, a detail that, while small, adds another layer to the tragic narrative of her death.

This tragic incident has sparked outrage, leading to the arrest of Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, by Kolkata Police. But as the case gained more attention, the Calcutta High Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the investigation, seeking a thorough and impartial inquiry into the doctor's death.
The investigation soon turned towards Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College. As the CBI delves deeper into the case, Dr Ghosh's actions on that fateful day have come under scrutiny. Why did he delay informing the young doctor's parents for nearly three hours? And who ordered the sudden renovation of rooms near the seminar hall where her body was discovered?
These questions linger as CBI officers continue to investigate, examining Dr Ghosh's mobile records and WhatsApp messages in search of answers. Each new piece of information brings the young doctor's story into sharper focus, a reminder of the horrors she faced and the justice that must be served.
