Jha, who was around 42 years old, was reportedly involved in handling administrative and political work for Adhikari. According to media reports at the time, he was found to have consumed alcohol before his death, and investigators noted signs such as bruising and choking.

Another Incident: Bodyguard's Death in 2018

Another incident involving a close associate occurred in 2018, when Adhikari's personal bodyguard, Subhabrata Chakraborty, died under mysterious circumstances.

Reports suggested that he may have died by suicide after allegedly using his service revolver at a police barrack in East Medinipur. At that time, Adhikari was still part of the Trinamool Congress and served as a minister in the state government.
