Centre grants approval for plastics park in Bengal
Kolkata, Sep 15: The Centre has given in-principle nod for setting up of four plastics park, including one at Bankura district in the state, a government official said.
"We have given an in-principle approval for four plastics parks, including one Barjora in Bankura," Arun Agarwal, Director of Chemcials and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, said at an ICC meet here today.

He said that the WBIDC would have to submit a detailed project report (DPR) this month, adding that the final approval would be given after evaluating it.
The park would come up on 25 acres of land and entail a development expenses of Rs 30 crore to Rs 40 crore, out of which the Centre would bear 40 per cent as assistance.
The Barjora park would have the potential to attract Rs 500 crore investments, according to industry estimates.
